About the Helene Derby

Description

With the most ancient of Greek names, our Helene lace-up derby is a classic that boasts a distinctly beautiful nose and a well-crafted silhouette. Made with soft vegetable-tanned leather, she provides a natural fit and offers an ease of movement for everywhere wear. Pair with ankle-length trousers or a mid-calf skirt and tights. 

Fit Notes

Our Helene derby shoe fits true to size and naturally adjusts to different widths. The soft leather combined with soft lining will open up with wear. If you find yourself between sizes or have a particularly wide foot, we suggest sizing up. 

Materials

Handmade in Greece.

Uppers are made with vegetable tanned Italian leather. The lining is made with 100% biodegradable, non-toxic and highly breathable Italian leather, and a 3mm cushioned insole wrapped in the same lining.

Vegetable-tanned cuoio stacked leather insole, with a rubber half heel cap for grip. Laces are waxed cotton.

Eco-Conscious Materials

When we decided to expand our sandals collection to include closed-toe shoes, we wanted our leather lining to be as ethical as our vegetable-tanned leather vachetta uppers. So we searched far and wide and found an incredible lining tannery in Italy. 

The leathers are completely biodegradable, non-toxic, breathable with a guaranteed low environmental impact and a marked reduction in water waste during production.

We want you to treasure your leather boots for years and years to come. While we’ve made every effort to build the shoes to last with materials that age beautifully, there are also steps you can take to protect and prolong the life of your leather boots. First things first, use an all natural leather cream or spray to protect your boots from water and other elements!
